What's so Fun about USB?

Well, for starters there’s our name. Want fun? Then imagine the thousands of things USB could stand for. We’ll get you started: Universal Spy Building . Unbelievably Sexy Bookworm. Urban Soap Box. Unearthly Super Banjo. Underwater Santa Brochure.

Now you try it….

When you’ve worn yourself out with that, let’s get down to what USB really means: Universal Serial Bus. Or, to put it in non-geek terms: the port on the back of your computer that all sorts of devices can plug into. Sure, you can put in normal stuff like USB drives, but that’s not all. Things really get fun when you branch out and explore the potential of the USB port.

Fans, lava lamps, mini-palm trees, refrigerators, disco balls…these and dozens of other outlandishly practical and fun things can plug into your USB drive too!

So, what’s so fun about USB? Everything! The only limit to the fun you can have is the number of USB ports on your computer and the scope of your imagination.  And if you run out - we have a few toys that have extra ports!  Check out the Cafe Pad and the Message Pad to increase your USB capacity!

About Us

Rub-a-dub-dub-Eureka!

Many great ideas begin in the bathtub!

From Archimedes’ discovery that led to his streaking through the streets of ancient Syracuse, to Mark and Jeff's flash of inspiration about FunUSB.com that occurred while the two were installing a bathtub in Mark’s house.

Now neither Jeff nor Mark is a trained plumber, but they knew they could install this bathtub because they had seen it done on YouTube.  And being the brilliant trouble shooter that he is, Mark had the foresight to turn off both the water AND the electricity to the house, just to be sure.  Safety first!

It was a hot summer day.  No electricity meant no air conditioning and no computer.  Luckily Jeff was prepared for this type of scenario and arrived with a fully charged laptop to set up on the vanity in the bathroom.

Mark and Jeff replayed the YouTube “How To” video one more time to get the logistics straight and sweat began to drip from their brows.

“Gosh,”  said Jeff, “wouldn’t it be great if we had a fan that was powered off of my laptop?”

EUREKA!”, Mark replied, as he lowered the antique claw foot bathtub into place. “That’s what we should do with our lives! We should start a company that sells fun (and occasionally useful) gadgets for USB ports.”

“Great idea!” said Jeff, wincing as one of the golden claws of the tub hit his big toe.  “Let’s call it FunUsb.com.”

And so the dream began.

Enough About Us, get on with the shopping!
